From the beginning I wasn't going to do a food type blog but I have some recipes that a friend shared with me, many of these are the old type recipes like those that used to be written down on a 3X5 card and I thought they were neat.
All recipes will be categorized on the right under labels under words like "cookies" or "dinners". And last but not least this will only be a recipe blog. Much as I would love to make it more I wouldn't have the time.

Enjoy!

English Toffee

1 cup butter
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup nuts
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 (6oz) pkg milk chocolate chips

Place aluminum foil on cookie sheet and grease it with butter. Spread chopped nuts on greased foil. Set aside. Combine sugar, butter, salt and vanilla in heavy sauce pan. Stir continually while butter is absorbed into the sugar. Continue to stir throughout cooking process. Cook until mixture is light brown in color and has reached the hard crack stage (300 degrees). Pour candy mixture over nuts and spread thinly. Sprinkle chocolate chips on the hot candy and allow them to melt then spread the melted chocolate evenly over the candy. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup very finely chopped nuts. When cold break into desired size pieces.

YUM!
