1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup of nuts (optional)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (this recipe calls for semisweet chocolate chips but my preference is milk chocolate and I use the entire bag. I would say this is your preference)
Cream the butter then gradually stir in both white and brown sugars creaming them together with the butter. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
In another bowl mix the flour salt and baking soda then stir in gradually with remaining ingredients. Add chocolate chips.
Use a spoon to drop the batter onto a well greased cookie sheet spacing evenly.
Bake 10 minutes
